ORIENTE

PRESS RELEASE — SARACOTIA RELEASES NEW ALBUM, “ORIENTE”!
The instrumental trio Saracotia returns with Oriente, the group’s third album and a milestone in their musical and personal maturity. Arriving ten years after their previous release, the record brings together ten tracks that synthesize a diverse and profound sonic journey built over a decade of listening, research, and lived experience.

Formed in Northeast Brazil, Saracotia forged its identity through the creative freedom of instrumental music, intertwining elements of Northeastern traditions with contemporary experimentation. On Oriente, this musical language expands even further. The new work reflects a confluence of influences ranging from Arabic music to Eastern Europe, as well as sounds from Latin America—especially Venezuela and Colombia. All of this unfolds without losing the Northeastern musical accent that has always been at the core of the trio’s path.

More than a geographical reference, Oriente evokes possible horizons—a metaphor for the creative and existential paths the band members have traveled in recent years. The title also resonates with the group’s recent experience touring China, which sparked meaningful reflections on culture, identity, and the connections shared across different societies.

With Oriente, Saracotia reaffirms its place in the Brazilian instrumental music scene, now renewed by the passage of time and by a broadened listening that crosses borders and dissolves genre boundaries. It is both a reunion with their audience and the introduction of a new chapter for the group—more diverse, more aware, and deeply connected to the world around them.
