RODRIGO SAMICO

Rodrigo is a music producer, composer, arranger, professor at the Pernambuco Conservatory of Music, and multi-instrumentalist. He holds a master’s degree in Musical and Sound Creation from Université Paris 8 (France). In Brazil, he leads the bands Saracotia (nominated for the 24th Brazilian Music Award) and Forró na Caixa.

As the founder and musical director of the band Marsa (winner of the Pré-AMP Festival 2015), he has also collaborated with artists such as Sagaranna, Renata Rosa, Isaar, Alessandra Leão, Caçapa, Sérgio Cassiano, Herbert Lucena, Mônica Feijó, Quarteto Olinda, Claudio Rabeca, and Seu Luiz Paixão, performing in numerous national and international tours.

In France, he is part of the projects Nova Troba, Bem ti vi, Amilê Trio, Piaça, and Família Almeida and performs with singers Ana Guanabara, Mayra Mates, Carolina Tolla, Caro Ferrer, and Kaliroi.

In the choro scene, he has played alongside renowned Brazilian artists and groups such as Henrique Cazes, Sexteto Capibaribe, Marco César, Hamilton de Holanda, Nicolas Krassik, Bozó, Beto do Bandolim, and João Paulo Albertim, among others.

With over 20 years of experience, Rodrigo has produced artists like Maciel Salú and Geraldo Maia. He has recorded around 40 albums, both as a guest musician and in solo projects, including Toquinho’s album Canto da Sereia. He also composed the soundtrack for the theater play Drama Reinas, which premiered in Paris in 2019, and has conducted Brazilian guitar and 7-string guitar workshops throughout Europe.

In 2021, he released a poetic-musical solo album titled “Voyage dans l’espace-temps suspendu”, recorded in Paris, France.
